Many mixes experimenting for a beloved Mother’s Milk tea have been created and finally… an herbal mixology has married my ideal blend of herbs for my favorite nursing tea. This blend of herbs was first inspired by some of the ingredients found in a popular lataction stimulating tea from Traditional Medicinals and Mountain Rose Herbs. Researching those common ingredients, my interests grew and I started an investigation more into the properties of other galactagogue herbs that could go into a more personal tea blend.
Galactagogues are plants that contain substances to either increase milk production and or milk flow a.k.a the “let down” in human and lactating animals. More info about galactagogues are available from this infamous breastfeeding support site http://kellymom.com/bf/can-i-breastfeed/herbs/herbal_galactagogue/
Here is the milk inducing tea containing my favorite blend of galactagogues. Keep in mind that these recipes are conjurings of a kitchen witch in the spirit of sharing only not prescribing.
